Thank you for visiting our web
site. We appreciate the opportunity to tell you about our organization. It is here that
you will be able to learn who we are, the duties and activities exercised, the current
apparatus, and how as an Upper Saucon Township resident, you can help us to protect you and your
property. Please view the various pages of information that we have provided.
*** We DO NOT solicit
donations via phone calls, and only send out an annual
donation request. If you receive a phone call stating they
are soliciting money for Upper Saucon Vol. Fire Department,
please try to ask more information and what the name of the
company doing the calls is and contact us at the station at
email@example.com. Thank you for your assistance in
to Upper Saucon Residents and Businesses:
We intend this to be a
longer version of our fund drive letter. We purposely make
the letter brief to hold down expenses. Then only those who
are interested will read this. Our only expenses are postage
and the purchase of a special mailing form. We do the
printing ourselves. We are fortune to have a few (mostly
older) people who can do this and maintain the data base.
Please correct us if we have errors in your address. Because
we do most of it ourselves, we estimate that 97% of the
donation goes toward fire protection. This may not be the
case if the number of volunteers continues to dwindle.
The Upper Saucon
Fire Department is in charge of fire protection for the
entire township. The address on your letter is an Upper
Saucon Township address even though the post office is
Coopersburg, Center Valley, Emmaus, Bethlehem, or Allentown
(Yes, the township is served by 5 post offices). The 911
operators will send another fire department as well as us if
the call seems serious. Likewise we go out of township on
many occasions. The lack of volunteers is a primary reason
Within the next
12 to 16 months we will replace our rescue truck as well as
the required updated rescue equipment. Our
current truck is over 30 years old. We must update our rescue equipment due to
changes in car design as well as better rescue equipment.
We can always use
more volunteers. If you are interested, go to the membership
page on this website or come to fire practice on the 1st,
2nd, or 4th Monday night at 7:00PM.
